Kanye West: 'I Killed My Ego'
The ego is dead.
Kanye West took to Twitter to announce the end of his ego in a series of tweets. “I killed my ego,” wrote Ye. “Who or what is Kanye West with no ego? Just Ye.”
He explained that his ego served as protection from “doubters,” but he is now considering a new way. “this is new for me but it’s just how I feel now. I don’t know why. I thought my ego protected me from doubters so that I wouldn’t doubt myself but there has to be a better way to do this,” he continued. “sometimes I have trouble saying no because I want to help everyone.”
Kanye’s ego has played a big part in his career. He even rapped about it on Beyoncé’s “Ego” remix. “I got a big ego / I’m such a big ego,” he raps. “I got a big / She love my big / She stroke my big.”

Despite the lack of ego, Kanye continues to enjoy success. Just this week, he earned his eighth No. 1 album with ye, which topped the Billboard 200 with 208,000 equivalent album units. His Kid Cudi joint album, Kids See Ghosts, is also set to debut in the top 5 on next week’s chart.
