Drake Confirms Son on 'Scorpion'

  /  06.28.2018

Drake is the father.

After much speculation, Drake has broken his silence and confirmed the reports that he fathered a child. On a pair of tracks off his just-released album Scorpion, he opens up about his paternity.

“Yesterday morning was crazy,” he raps on the closer “March 14.” “I had to come to terms with the fact that it’s not a maybe / That shit’s in stone, sealed and signed / She not my lover like Billie Jean, but the kid is mine / Sandy used to tell me all it takes was one time and all it took was one time.”

He also makes reference to his tumultuous relationship with the child’s rumored mother, former porn star Sophie Brussaux. “Hopefully, by the time you hear this, me and your mother will have come around / Instead of always cuttin’ each other down / God willing, I got a good feeling / You got a good spirit / We’ll talk more when you hear this.”

Through the lyrics, he reveals that he met his son once on Christmas Day. “I only met you one time, introduced you to St. Nick,” he raps. “I think he must have brought you like 20 gifts.”

The Mariah Carey-sampled “Emotionless” also makes reference to his baby boy. “I wasn’t hidin’ my kid from the world / I was hidin’ the world from my kid,” raps Drake.

Pusha-T was the first to publicly claim Drake fathered a child on his diss track “The Story of Adidon.” “You are hiding a child, let that boy come home,” raps Pusha. “Deadbeat motherfucker playing border patrol / Adonis is your son and he deserves more than an adidas press run / Love that baby, respect that girl / Forget she’s a porn star, let her be your world.”

According to reports, the boy, named Adonis, was born on Drake’s birthday, Oct. 24. Drake has reportedly been financially supporting him and his baby mama.
