New Music: Sophie Beem - 'Stars'

  /  08.16.2018

Sophie Beem shoots for the “Stars” on her dancehall-inspired single, produced by 1st Klase (Sean Paul, Major Lazer).

Inspired by her own long-distance relationship, which ended in heartbreak, the 19-year-old singer-songwriter recounts what it means to miss the one you love. The emotional lyrics capture the feeling of being miles apart and feeling empty if you’re not together.

“When I heard ‘Stars’ it immediately made me think about falling in love,” Sophie tells Rap-Up. “The dream of being with someone and wanting to run away from everything in the world just to be with them. I hope you guys like it!”

Discovered and developed by Beyoncé, who signed her to Parkwood Entertainment, Sophie has collaborated with Fetty Wap on her 2016 self-titled EP, toured with Charlie Puth, and had her music featured on HBO’s “Insecure.”
