Watch Azealia Banks Get Upset Over Racial Joke on 'Wild 'N Out'

  /  08.24.2018

Azealia Banks stormed off the set of “Wild ‘N Out” in tears last month after being complexion shamed by the cast during a freestyle battle. Now TMZ has obtained a clip that shows the joke that upset her so much.

During the segment, named “So Petty,” Azealia’s team faces off with Nick Cannon and his crew including DC Young Fly. But it was the comedian’s racial insult that really upset Azealia.

“My boy Nick Cannon is so petty, he couldn’t get Cardi B, so he got Azealia’s ugly ass,” said DC.

But Azealia wasn’t having it and shot back. “Sorry, can I just say, that was very anti-black,” she said, adding, “I didn’t think that was funny.”

Taking to social media after the taping, Azealia clapped back at the cast. “Some little scrawny black Atlanta twink was prepared for me,” she said. “They planned this – hit me on short notice, told me I didn’t have to participate in the coon ass freestyle battles ,(not my style) and I was to sing my song and go home.”

She detailed more of the account on Instagram Stories, explaining that no one came to her defense. “Not a single one of those black men called ANY of the white women on stage ugly,” she said. “I’m sorry…but yesterday was a testament to why I don’t ever let ni**as near me.”

She also called out the show’s host, Nick Cannon. “If I were to make fun of Nick Cannon for having lupus and being weak and sickly, if I made a joke that said he’d be dead by the end of the year,” she wrote. “Then Azealia Banks is the bad guy, right?”

Cannon responded to Banks, writing, “Don’t you hate when you create your own storms but forget your umbrella? We are praying for you, Queen.”

But Azealia had the last word. “Nick Cannon, you don’t have to pray for me. Pray for your fucking immune system,” she said.

The full episode of “Wild ‘N Out” with Azealia airs Friday on MTV at 10 p.m. ET.
