New Music: Mariah Carey - 'GTFO'

Mariah Carey is back. The legendary diva tells her ex to “GTFO” on her brand new song.

The kiss-off anthem finds the Elusive Chanteuse showing off her breathy mid-range over atmospheric production from dvsn’s Nineteen85 (Drake, Daniel Caesar).

“How about you get the fuck out? / How about you take your tings and be on your merry way?” she sings on the sultry song.

The music video, directed by Sarah McColgan (Kelly Clarkson, Charli XCX), is set to drop Friday (Sept. 14).

“GTFO” is a first taste from Mariah’s upcoming 15th studio album, her first since 2014, due out later this year via her Butterfly MC imprint in partnership with Epic Records. It will be followed by the official first single, “With You,” which drops Oct. 5.

“I wanted to give my fans and everyone a first listen that wasn’t so serious,” said Mariah, who recently kicked off her new Las Vegas residency, “The Butterfly Returns.” “I’ve had so much fun making this album, and I wanted the first moment to reflect that light-hearted spirit.”
