Quavo Denies Dissing Lil Peep on 'Big Bro'

  /  10.15.2018

Quavo is setting the record straight following the controversial lyrics on his solo debut Quavo Huncho.

On “Big Bro,” one of the album’s 19 tracks, the Migos MC raps about a deceased “rockstar” who was taking fentanyl. “Is you with me or against me? / I’m a OG now so you need me,” he raps. “Think you poppin’ Xanax bars, but it’s fentanyl / Think you’re living life like rockstars but you’re dead now.”

Producer Smokeasac, one of Peep’s closest friends and collaborators, took the lyrics as a shot at Peep, who had a song called “Rockstar” and died of an accidental fentanyl overdose in November.

But Quavo has denied the accusations. Taking to Twitter on Monday (Oct. 15), he shot down reports that he was dissing the late rapper. “Lil Peep Is A Legend A Real Rockstar,” tweeted Quavo. “N E V E R will speak on the deceased. I believe in god I pray to GOD every day. I Dnt question GOD plans.”

He went on to shout out the late XXXTentacion, who was murdered during an apparent robbery, and his barber, who died of a fentanyl overdose. “I lost my barber For 10 yrs to FENTANYL R.I.P. Show R.I.P XXX 🙏🏾 RIP TO ANYBODY WHO LOST THERE LIFE TO DRUG ABUSE!”

“Big Bro” is included on Quavo’s debut album Quavo Huncho, which also features Drake, Cardi B, Madonna, 21 Savage, Travis Scott, Kid Cudi, and more.
