Gucci Mane Questions Eminem's King of Rap Status

  /  12.17.2018

Eminem does not deserve the crown, according to Gucci Mane.

During a visit to “The Rickey Smiley Morning Show” last week (via Complex), the Atlanta rapper questioned Em’s “King of Rap” status.

When host Headkrack claimed that Em deserves the throne, Gucci was quick to dispute the title. “You got to come with a better name,” said Gucci before saying that he does not listen to Em regularly.

“I ain’t playing Eminem in my car. You play him in yours?” he asked.

Headkrack responded, saying that he plays Eminem albums the week they drop, to which Gucci expressed his surprise. “You sliding around playing Eminem in your car, you and your ol’ lady?” he asked before Headkrack explained that he plays them “dolo.”

They all then shared a laugh while imagining themselves driving around listening to Eminem.

Despite Gucci scoffing at the claim, Em still remains a powerhouse on the charts. His latest album, Kamikaze, moved 434,000 album-equivalent units its first week and was certified platinum in October.

Gucci was on “The Rickey Smiley Morning Show” to promote his new album Evil Genius, which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 with 48,000 album-equivalent units.
