Cardi B Learns to Drive, Performs at Senior Center on 'Carpool Karaoke'

In the midst of her public breakup from Offset, Cardi B took a break for some “Carpool Karaoke.”

The platinum-selling rapper helped James Corden get to work by singing along to some of her biggest hits including “Bartier Cardi,” “Be Careful,” and “Bodak Yellow.” She rolled down the window and rapped her part to unsuspecting drivers while navigating L.A. traffic.

They also chatted about her come-up and Cardi explained that she wasn’t an overnight success. “You know I’m funny so people just be thinking that everything is a joke,” she said. “But I’m not laughing today. I want you to take this serious, but they wasn’t. They was frontin’ on the king, ya heard?”

She and Corden then launched into “Money” as Cardi shouted out the window to children in the park. “Stay in school. Listen to your mom or you won’t be getting no Christmas gifts,” she said before telling them to buy her new single.

While she may own five cars, Cardi still doesn’t know how to drive, so Corden tried to give her a lesson. He set up a crash course in the CBS parking lot, but it didn’t go too well and she couldn’t stop running over cones and backing into objects.

With Corden back in the driver’s seat, they continued with “Drip” and Cardi reminisced about carrying a razor blade in her mouth when she was younger. “You always gotta be militant,” she told Corden, who suggested she use the blade for opening Amazon packages.

Cardi, who recently performed for kids at a Bar Mitzvah, then played for her oldest audience yet at the Culver City Senior Center. She got on the mic and performed her hit “I Like It” for the seniors, who loved every moment of it. She even won over one particular man, who had his eye on her.
