Alicia Keys to Host 2019 Grammy Awards

Alicia Keys is returning to the Grammys, but this time as host.

The 15-time Grammy winner will preside over the 61st annual awards, marking her first time as master of ceremonies for Music’s Biggest Night, which is set to air Feb. 10 on CBS.

Keys revealed the big news in a behind-the-scenes video, which includes footage of her receiving the phone call offering her the gig. In the clip, she also shares the news with her family including husband Swizz Beatz and her children.

“I know what it feels like to be on that stage, and I’m going to bring that vibe and energy,” said Keys. “I’m so excited to be the master of ceremonies on the biggest night in music and celebrate the creativity, power and, magic. I’m especially excited for all the incredible women nominated this year! It’s going ‘UP’ on February 10!”

The 2019 Grammy Awards will air live from Staples Center in Los Angeles on CBS on Sunday, Feb. 10, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. Kendrick Lamar leads with eight nominations, followed by Drake with seven.

Keys, who won her most recent Grammy for Best R&B Album for Girl on Fire in 2014, is now readying a new album, her first since 2016’s Here.
