Kehlani Celebrates Daughter at Baby Shower
Kehlani can’t wait for motherhood.
The “Nights Like This” singer was surrounded by loved ones as she celebrated her baby shower during a poolside party in Bel-Air, Calif. on Sunday (Jan. 27). Family and friends including SZA, Zendaya, Lauren Jauregui, Kamaiyah, and Syd from The Internet joined the mom-to-be and father Javie Young-White, who are expecting a daughter named Adeya Nomi.
The baby girl’s name was displayed on a cake, while guests enjoyed sweet treats and toasted with cocktails with names like “Mommy Mocktail,” “Pregarita,” and “Maternitini.”

There was plenty of love and gifts to go around. One of Kehlani’s favorites was from SZA, who bought her a year’s worth of diapers. “auntie sza got us a years worth of diapers,” she tweeted. “literally every month for a year. i cried.”
Taking to social media, she reflected on the unforgettable day. “what a beautiful shower. i’m in awe of all the love we got,” said Kehlani. “all the love she got. they made a video slideshow and i cried harder than i think i’ve ever cried. every second of today was perfect. thank you God. thank you Yaya. you are perfect.”
In October, Kehlani announced that she was pregnant with her first child, whom she plans to deliver via home birth. “This is weird but I’m like really excited to birth,” she recently told Zane Lowe on Beats 1. “The entire process of being in extreme pain, but also extreme beauty, is very ceremonious to me.”
