Nicki Minaj Cancels Another European Show

  /  03.10.2019

Nicki Minaj had to pull the plug on another show.

Fans of the rapper were waiting outside the Arkea Arena in Bordeaux, France during her “Nicki WRLD Tour” on Saturday night (Mar. 9) before the concert was canceled due to technical issues.

Taking to Instagram, an apologetic Minaj explained that the venue didn’t have enough power and wouldn’t allow for the show to go on. “Tonight the BUILDING wouldn’t let me or juice Wrld perform,” she wrote. “They let us soundcheck then said the building doesn’t have enuff power to run the show…I’m so sorry u guys.”

She also posted a statement from the promoter corroborating her claim. “The Arkea Arena of Bordeaux refuses that the show will take place tonight for technical reasons,” wrote the promoter. “Despite all the efforts we have provided, we are in regret to cancel tonight’s show. Nicki Minaj & juice wrld were at the room waiting to be able to give the concert.”

Earlier in the evening, Minaj was seen at the venue greeting fans and taking pictures. “You guys, it’s not in my best interest not to perform and lose money and aggravate my fans,” she said while smoking a blunt in an Instagram video. “I love performing for my fans. I’m more excited than you are before the show.”

Added Minaj, “These two cities that had technical issues were cities that I’ve never been to before and we tried to add them, but they just didn’t have the power in the building to facilitate my show, and they didn’t tell us that until three hours before the show as opposed to once we did soundcheck, they said it was fine.”

While most of her fans were understanding, not all of them were happy. Video footage shows some of the crowd booing and chanting Cardi B’s name after the venue announced the cancelation.

This is the second time Minaj has had to cancel her show due to power issues. Last month, she was unable to perform in Slovakia after the transformers shut down and the arena suffered several outages.

The “Nicki WRLD Tour” will continue with a show at London’s O2 Arena on Monday before traveling to Dublin, Manchester, and Amsterdam, wrapping March 28 in Geneva, Switzerland.
