Alicia Keys is embarking on a new chapter.
The Grammy-winning singer has announced that she will publish her memoir More Myself: A Journey this fall through Oprah Winfrey’s An Oprah Book imprint on Flatiron Books. On Wednesday (Mar. 13), Keys shared the exciting news for the very first time while on a celebratory lunch date with Winfrey.
“I couldn’t be more ecstatic to share this part of my journey so far and all the ways I am continuously learning to honor my truth,” Keys said in a statement (via EW). “Alongside my sister, mentor, and friend Oprah, this book is one of the most exciting chapters yet.”
I can NOT believe this is happening! My sister, mentor & the QUEEN herself helped me share my journey! Thank you @Oprah for letting me share my truth as the 1st release of your new book imprint & for challenging me to become MORE MYSELF. 🙏🏽 https://t.co/OtTdrYYt9W @flatironbooks pic.twitter.com/e5GtMoW88N

More Myself is described as “part autobiography, part narrative documentary.” Alicia will share her journey—from her childhood in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen to a 15-time Grammy-winning artist—along with recollections from those close to her. “The result is a 360-degree perspective on Alicia’s path,” reads the synopsis.
Added Oprah, “I could feel the power of Alicia’s presence even before she belted out the first soulful notes of the lyrics that made her famous—’I keep on fallin’ in and out of love with you.’ I knew she had all those sparkling qualities that make stars shine. More important, Alicia has navigated the spotlight and pressures of fame while retaining a humble and beautiful spirit. I am honored she chose to share her personal story through my imprint.”
More Myself: A Journey hits bookstores Nov. 5 and is now available for pre-order.
