Boosie Badazz Arrested on Drug and Gun Charges

  /  04.09.2019

Boosie Badazz has been arrested on drug and gun charges following a traffic stop in Georgia.

The 36-year-old rapper and another man, named Antonio Allen, were pulled over Monday afternoon (April 8) when a sheriff’s deputy noticed a white Dodge Charger driving erratically, swerving lanes and nearly sideswiping another vehicle, according to TMZ. Police noticed a strong marijuana smell coming from the vehicle, which was reportedly driven by Boosie.

During a search of the car, the sheriff’s office says they found about 11 grams of marijuana and a loaded 9mm handgun, along with a bag full of cash and a vape pen with suspected THC oil inside.

Boosie, whose legal name is Torrence Hatch Jr., has been charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of schedule I narcotics, failure to maintain lane, and possession of marijuana.

Boosie has a history of run-ins with the law. In 2011, he was sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to smuggling drugs into two Louisiana state prisons. He was serving time for a prior 2009 conviction on a marijuana charge when he smuggled in the drugs with the help of a prison guard. He was released in 2014 and had been on parole until 2018. In 2012, he was acquitted of first-degree murder in the 2009 death of Terry Boyd.

Both men are currently being held in the Coweta County Jail. No bond has been set at this time.
