Kendrick Lamar and Fiancée Whitney Alford Welcome Baby Girl

Kendrick Lamar is a dad!

The rapper and his fiancée, Whitney Alford, have welcomed their first child. According to Us Weekly, the baby girl was born on Friday (July 26). The couple kept the pregnancy private and did not publicly announce it ahead of time.

The Grammy-winning MC, 32, and makeup artist, 33, have been together for over a decade after meeting at Centennial High School in Compton.

In an April 2015 interview with Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club,” Kendrick confirmed that he was engaged to his high school sweetheart. “Yeah, yeah, definitely,” he said when asked about Alford. “I’m loyal to the soil. At the end of the day you want to always have real people around you, period–whether male or female.”

“I wouldn’t even call her my girl,” he told Billboard in January 2015. “That’s my best friend. I don’t even like the term that society has put in the world as far as being a companion–she’s somebody I can tell my fears to.”
