Rihanna Wants to Get Back in the Studio with The-Dream

Rihanna is eyeing another collaboration with The-Dream.

While hosting an Instagram Live session on Tuesday (Sept. 17), the superstar teased a potential reunion with her “Umbrella” collaborator. Upon noticing that The-Dream had joined her livestream, she proposed that they get back in the studio to cook up more music.

“What up, Dream? Miss you, bro,” she said (via Billboard). “We definitely need to get back in the studio together. So let me know when you done designing and being all…”

But she quickly realized that she was calling him out for doing exactly what she’s been doing, focusing on fashion while putting music on the back burner. “Yeah, that was the pot calling the kettle black. That was me, I did that. I’m a hypocrite,” she laughed.

Back in January, The-Dream said that Rihanna was nearly done with her new album. “She’s cooking, she’s about done. She’s about done. Super close,” he told Hot 97.

In between her fashion endeavors, Rihanna has been working on her long-awaited ninth album. The reggae-inspired project is still awaiting a release date. “Y’all gon’ have to wait, Navy, I’m so sorry,” she recently told fans.

Tonight, she will debut her star-studded Savage x Fenty fashion show on Amazon Prime Video, with performances from Migos, Big Sean, Fabolous, Normani, DJ Khaled, and more.
