The Weeknd is headed to the big screen.
The Canadian crooner makes his acting debut in the Safdie brothers’ thriller Uncut Gems starring Adam Sandler.
Sandler plays Howard Ratner, a jewelry dealer to the rich and famous who must find a way to pay his debts when his merchandise is taken from one of his top sellers. The gambling con-man ends up putting his life and career on the line, including violent run-ins with gangsters and a nightclub brawl with The Weeknd, who plays himself in the film.

The Grammy winner also shares an intimate scene with actress Julia Fox in a bathroom stall. “Nothing happened!” Foxx assured his fans. “We were just doing coke.”
Abel’s collaboration with Travis Scott, “Pray 4 Love,” can also be heard in the trailer.
“So happy to be apart of this,” tweeted Travis. “This movie is fucking awesome can’t wait.”
The film, which also stars Lakeith Stanfield, Kevin Garnett, and Idina Menzel, premiered to rave reviews at the Telluride Film Festival in August and is generating Oscar buzz for Sandler.
Uncut Gems hits theaters on Dec. 13. Watch the trailer below.
