City Girls to Release New Album in 90 Days

  /  10.14.2019

City Girls are in album mode.

Now that JT is out of prison, the Miami duo is cooking up new music. Quality Control CEO Pierre “Pee” Thomas revealed that JT is already back in the studio working on a new album.

“She gon’ start recording next week and just stay tuned,” he told TMZ.

And they’re wasting no time at all. According to Pierre, the project will drop by January. “Album be ready in 90 days,” he added.

This would be even sooner than the spring 2020 date that Yung Miami previously told Apple Music’s Beats 1. “When [JT] come home we’re working on another album that we’re gonna drop hopefully for spring break,” she said.

JT was released to a halfway house earlier this month where she will serve out the remainder of her sentence for felony identity theft. But instead of celebrating, she got right back to work. Last week, she dropped her first post-prison track “JT First Day Out.”

“JT got out of prison and went straight on the studio bus and did her song before she even gave her mama a hug,” said Pee. “She’s just focused.”

In between studio sessions, JT’s counterpart Yung Miami is preparing to welcome her second child. The rapper is set to give birth to a baby boy this month.

While JT was away, City Girls released their album Girl Code in Nov. 2018 featuring the hit singles “Act Up” and “Twerk” featuring Cardi B.
