The Weeknd Returns with New Single 'Heartless'

  /  11.26.2019

The Weeknd is back.

A year-and-a-half since his last project, the King of the Fall makes his long-awaited return with his new single “Heartless.” Over the Metro Boomin-produced track, the 29-year-old bachelor reflects on his savage lifestyle.

“Yeah, I want it all now / I’ve been running through the pussy / Need a dog pound,” sings the Starboy. “A hundred models getting faded in the compound / Tryna love me, but they never get a pulse down.”

But despite his best efforts, he can’t shake his bad ways. “All this money and this pain got me heartless / Low life for life cause I’m heartless,” he sings. “Tryna be a better man but I’m heartless / Never be a wedding plan for the heartless.”

“Heartless” marks the first solo music from The Weeknd since his 2018 EP My Dear Melancholy. A second single called “Blinding Lights” is expected to debut later this week and also appears in a commercial for Mercedes-Benz.

Earlier this month, Abel was seen shooting a music video on Fremont Street in Las Vegas. He also recently registered a new song called “Like Selena,” possibly inspired by his ex Selena Gomez, in the ASCAP and BMI database.

Additionally, he is set to make his acting debut alongside Adam Sandler in the Safdie brothers’ thriller Uncut Gems, which hits theaters Dec. 13.
