Mariah Carey Promotes Coronavirus Safety by Washing Hands to 'Fantasy'

  /  03.13.2020

Mariah Carey is staying safe.

As the world grapples with the coronavirus pandemic, the pop diva is taking measures to keep her and her family safe. On Friday, the singer posted a video on TikTok of her and her 8-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, washing their hands for 20 seconds in the bathroom sink. The video was soundtracked by the remix to her classic 1995 hit “Fantasy” featuring the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard.

“You ready? We got 20 seconds,” said MC before they started washing their hands with soap and water while rapping along to ODB’s verse.

“Me and Mariah / Go back like babies and pacifiers,” sang Dem Kids while Mariah finished the lyrics.

“Old Dirt Dog’s no liar,” she said before the timer went off and they celebrated by throwing their hands in the air.

Some of her famous followers responded in the comments. “This is amazing!!!” said Millie Bobby Brown, while Normani and JoJo left heart emojis.

Other artists including Gloria Gaynor and JoJo have also taken to social media to share their hand washing routines. JoJo went live on Instagram, cleaning her hands while singing along to her new single “Man,” but with coronavirus-inspired lyrics.

“If I’m gonna love someone, they’re gonna need to clean under their nails,” she sang while cleaning each finger. “They’re gonna need to have clean hands / If they think about being my man / They’re gonna have to clean their fu**ing hands.”
