Report: Charlamagne Tha God May Exit 'The Breakfast Club'

  /  03.16.2020

Charlamagne Tha God is thinking of an exit plan.

The radio personality is reportedly considering leaving Power 105.1’s morning show “The Breakfast Club” when his contract expires at the end of the year, according to Page Six.

Charlamagne, who founded the show in 2010, reportedly has “a lot of other potential deals in the air.” “He loves working for [Power 105.1 parent company] iHeartRadio, but he is contemplating his next move,” says an insider.

He recently opened up about quitting the show, which he co-hosts with Angela Yee and DJ Envy. “My contract’s up in December so I won’t have to,” he said during an interview with NeNe Leakes earlier this month. He also admitted that he “mentally quit” the show “a lot recently.”

While his contract expires in December, he hasn’t made his decision yet. “He’s not sure what he is going to do,” adds the insider. “There are a lot of potential deals in the air, and he just wants to keep his options open and think strategically.”

Aside from “The Breakfast Club,” Charlamagne hosted a weekly talk show on MTV2 called “Uncommon Sense Live,” and authored two books, 2017’s Black Privilege: Opportunity Comes to Those Who Create It and 2018’s Shook One: Anxiety Playing Tricks on Me. He also regularly conducts his own one-on-one interviews on his YouTube channel with artists including Kanye West, Meek Mill, Ed Sheeran, and Gucci Mane.
