Andrew Watt is opening up about his experience with coronavirus and the painstaking process of getting tested.

The 29-year-old producer behind hits for Post Malone (“Take What You Want”), Justin Bieber (“Let Me Love You”), and Camila Cabello (“Havana”), whose known professionally as WATT, has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, he revealed that he started feeling symptoms 12 days ago, including a fever and aches and pains.

“I started feeling like I was hit by a bus. I couldn’t move out of my bed for days started to run a fever,” said Watt.

He called a doctor who diagnosed him with the flu and told him that it was not possible he had coronavirus since he only goes to the studio and back home. He quarantined himself and was taking Tylenol and Tamiflu to fight the fever, but the chills, sweats, and fever persisted. He eventually developed a dry cough and became delusional before being rushed to the emergency room. He begged for a COVID-19 test, but was turned down because of federal regulations.

After pleading for an evaluation, he was given a chest X-ray and told he had viral pneumonia. On Monday afternoon. he had a private doctor test him and the results came back positive for COVID-19.

His condition is now improving. His fever has subsided and his appetite has somewhat returned, but he still has breathing issues and is utilizing an oxygen machine.

Watt shared his story as a cautionary tale to prevent the virus from spreading. He stressed the severity of the infectious disease, and told others to follow safety procedures and stay inside and sanitize.

“I am a healthy young man and I am going to get through this no matter what,” he wrote. “But…there are so many people in my life and in the world that could possibly not get through this due to their age and/or a compromised immune system… this is why I am writing this post.”

He continued, “I can’t stress this enough…This is not a joke. Stay inside, stay sanitized. Please stop everything and take care of yourselves And the people you love around you, until we are all through this. To have the mentality ‘I’m young this can’t affect me’ is just straight up stupid and so dangerous to everyone around you.”
