Playboi Carti was arrested on drug and gun charges Thursday.
The “Magnolia” rapper, whose real name is Jordan Carter, was driving in his black Lamborghini when it was pulled over by deputies in Clayton County, Georgia for an expired tag, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Upon searching the vehicle, authorities discovered 12 bags of marijuana, three guns, xanax, codeine, and oxycodone.
A second man, Jaylon Tucker, was also arrested. Both were taken to the Clayton County Jail. Carti was released on bond Friday morning.
In November, the 23-year-old MC and his girlfriend Iggy Azalea were the victims of a robbery. Thieves reportedly stole $366,000 worth of jewelry from the couple’s rental home in the Atlanta suburb of Buckhead.
Carti has remained out of the spotlight as he works on his long-awaited sophomore album Whole Lotta Red, the follow-up to 2018’s Die Lit.
