Pharrell Buys $30 Million Florida Mansion

Pharrell is quarantining in style.

The multi-faceted mogul has spent around $30 million on a 3.5-acre waterfront estate in Coral Gables, Fla., about 30 minutes from Miami’s South Beach.

According to Dirt.com, the lavish pad, dubbed El Palmar, was previously owned by Univision executive Ray Rodriguez and his wife, who were eager to unload the high-maintenance estate. The property was originally listed for $45 million about a year-and-a-half ago before it was reduced by 33 percent.

Pharrell was reportedly in the market for a South Florida property for some time, and decided to quickly move forward with the purchase because he and his family plan to quarantine there.

The two-story Plantation-style mansion sits on lush grounds with tropical gardens and an enclosed motor court, a spacious detached guesthouse, and a garage for five or more cars. Designed by local architect Cesar Molina, the 17,000-square-foot living spaces include nine bedrooms and 11.5 bathrooms throughout the main house, guesthouse, and boathouse. Other features include a massive gourmet kitchen, swimming pool, open-air pavilion with outdoor kitchen, and 110-foot inlet for parking boats.

The Neptunes producer recently listed his glass mansion in the Beverly Hills Post Office area for $17 million. The 17,000-square-foot architectural estate, which he purchased from Tyler Perry in 2018 for $15.6 million, boasts 10 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms.

In 2007, he sold his Miami Beach penthouse for $8.45 million and bought a 9,100-square-foot triplex penthouse for $12.525 million, which he sold in 2015 for $9.35 million. His real estate portfolio also includes a 9,000-square-foot waterfront estate in his hometown of Virginia Beach, which he acquired in 2001 for $1.85 million.
