Chris Brown Wants to Battle Himself on Verzuz
Chris Brown’s only competition is himself.
After fans threw his name in the ring for a potential Verzuz matchup, the R&B superstar has finally responded. But he’s not interested in battling anyone but himself. Taking to Instagram on Friday, Breezy addressed the chatter by posting a video of himself dancing from his “INDIGOAT Tour.”
“Only vs ima do is CHRIS BROWN VS CHRIS BREEZY… not in competition with nobody but myself…” he captioned the clip.
Fans have been asking Brown to participate in Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s popular clash series, suggesting potential opponents including Usher, Drake, Justin Bieber, and Trey Songz. But it looks like they’ll have to wait unless he changes his mind.
While Chris may not be interested in the competition, Keyshia Cole is. The Oakland songstress recently challenged Ashanti to a Verzuz battle, but Ashanti has yet to respond.
The series has already featured epic battles between Snoop Dogg and DMX, Jadakiss and Fabolous, Beenie Man and Buju Banton, Alicia Keys and John Legend, and Nelly and Ludacris.
On Friday, Chris dropped his collaboration with Jacquees, “Put in Work.” He is now readying his 10th studio album Breezy, the follow-up to 2019’s Indigo.
