Mr Eazi Taps Nicki Minaj and Major Lazer for 'Oh My Gawd'

  /  09.10.2020

Knock knock. Mr Eazi connects with Major Lazer and Nicki Minaj on “Oh My Gawd.”

The infectious dancehall-inspired jam, which borrows from reggae classics by Black Uhuru and Baby Cham, also features Nigerian-born artist K4mo and serves as the first single from Mr Eazi’s upcoming EP Something Else, due in October.

The Queen pops off on her earthquaking verse. “‘Cause I’m back in my bag / Throw your rag, throw your flag / And I’m runnin’ up a tab, ’cause I love poppin’ tags,” raps Mrs. Petty.

“This record was really fun to make,” says Mr Eazi, “and it’s crazy how it went from hearing a K4mo intro in the studio with Fred Again, to me jumping on it and then Diplo hopping in! And Walshy hitting me up to say it’s a banger–next thing Nicki is on it! Been a journey really, like two years in the making and I can’t wait to perform it at my next festival!”

“Oh My Gawd” follows a string of collaborations for Nicki, who also recently worked with Ty Dolla $ign, A$AP Ferg, and 6ix9ine.

Major Lazer is also readying its fourth album for release later this year.
