Report: Kanye West and Kim Kardashian Have Been 'Over for More Than a Year'

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s love is no longer on lockdown.

A new report from PEOPLE claims that the couple’s romance has been over for more than a year before talks of divorce.

“The love story between Kim and Kanye has been over for a long time, more than a year,” says a TV industry source. “They adored each other but have too many differences.”

The source claims that Kim grew distant from Kanye following his failed presidential run and public struggles with bipolar disorder. “Kim has become more independent and has lost patience with his antics, rants, the presidential campaign and tweets,” says the source.

“Kim knows what she wants to do with her life. She wants to keep living in L.A., create the best life for the kids and focus on her work passions,” adds the insider. “They are just not on the same page when it comes to their future as a family. And Kim is okay with it.”

Kim, who has aspirations of becoming a lawyer, is now focused on life without Kanye. “She is busy studying, running her business, promoting it, and raising their children. That is what she wants to do.”

She has yet to officially end her six-year marriage to West, but she is making sure the couple’s kids come first. “She will do everything she can for the kids to have a great relationship with Kanye,” says the source. “She just doesn’t want to be married to him.”

Kim has hired famed divorce attorney Laura Wasser as she weighs her options. According to The Sun, she will seek full custody of their four children—North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.

Despite their “imminent” breakup, the couple reportedly spent Christmas together. Kanye gifted Kim five 2021 Mercedes-Maybach GLS600 SUVs priced as just under $200,000 each, while Kim gave Yeezy several James Turrell art pieces worth over $1 million.
