Halle Berry Says She 'Loves' Being Mentioned in Rap Songs

  /  06.09.2021

Halle Berry has become one of the most name-checked celebrities in hip-hop.

From Biggie to Missy Elliott, the Oscar-winning actress has found herself in the lyrics to your favorite rap song. So how does it feel to be on the receiving end of all the adoration?

“I love it!” tweeted the Boomerang actress when asked by a fan.

For two decades, the name Halle Berry has been dropped on tracks including Kanye West’s “New Workout Plan,” J. Cole’s “Higher,” Missy Elliott’s “Work It,” Migos’ “Versace,” and Kendrick Lamar’s “Money Trees,” just to name a few. She even had an entire song named after her, Hurricane Chris’ 2009 hit “Halle Berry (She’s Fine).”

JAY-Z has mentioned the Catwoman star twice on “Beach Is Better” off 2013’s Magna Carta Holy Grail and most recently on DMX’s “Bath Salts,” where he raps, “Be my Halle Berry, all you need is a catsuit.”

But when it comes to choosing her favorite rap reference, the 54-year-old actress can’t pick one because they all hold a special place in her heart.

“I think of these references like my children in a way. There’s no way I could pick one,” she said during a 2019 appearance on “Hot Ones.” “I love all these artists. I’m always flattered when any one of them include me and that they still remember me and know who I am. So to pick one would be like picking my daughter over my son. I love them all.”
