Bow Wow Reveals Why He Stopped Rapping

Bow Wow is trying to live a stress-free life.

The rapper-actor revealed that he doesn’t rap anymore because of the stress it brings. Just minutes before taking the Verzuz stage against Soulja Boy on Saturday, Bow Wow’s hard drive filled with all his music crashed, causing him to panic.

“I was soooo stressed putting this show together in 4 days for VERZUZ!! What yall don’t know is our hard drive CRASHED 6 mins before we went live!!” he revealed on Instagram.

He also shared a video from backstage at Verzuz, where he explained the pressure that comes along with his career.

“Y’all ni**as see why I don’t wanna rap no motherfu**in’ more, this is exactly why,” he said. “I’m at peace, man. I like hosting my shit, making more money than half of y’all rap ni**as. I like doing my podcast with Fox. This shit right here, it’s the No. 1 reason why a ni**a don’t wanna rap no more.”

“This is the reason why I do movies and I do so much other shit it’s because the rap shit brings stress. I don’t like no motherfu**in’ stress. I haven’t been stressed all motherfu**in’ year up until right now.”

Added the F9 star, “I do not f**k with rap. I hate doing this shit.”

The stress may not be going away anytime soon as Bow Wow is set to hit the road with Omarion on the “Millennium Tour” this fall. The 27-date trek kicks off Oct. 1 with special guests Ashanti, Soulja Boy, Ying Yang Twins, Lloyd, Sammie, and Pretty Ricky.

Bow Wow hasn’t released a new studio album in over a decade, but he plans to release one more album before calling it quits. In January, he announced his final album Before 30.

“I’ma do one more album. It’s gonna be the last one and it’s gonna be called Before 30, and I’ma have Snoop narrate the whole thing,” he told “Ebro in the Morning.” “So it’s gonna be kind of a different project, 10 songs.”
