Kim Kardashian Won't Remove 'West' From Last Name
Kim Kardashian will remain a West.
The beauty mogul will keep her last name despite Kanye petitioning to legally change his name. Sources tell TMZ that Kim has no plans to follow Kanye’s lead because she feels it’s important to keep the same last name as her four children—North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm—who will also keep their last names.
While Kim retains the West moniker, she reportedly supports Kanye’s desire to go by “Ye” and thinks people will still recognize him as Kanye West.
He recently filed documents to legally change his name from Kanye Omari West to just “Ye,” and is asking an L.A. court to make it official by signing off on the petition.
He hinted at the name change back in September 2018. “the being formally known as Kanye West,” he tweeted. “I am YE.”
Despite their divorce, the estranged couple remains committed to their family. Kim attended Kanye’s listening parties for DONDA at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The two were also recently spotted at lunch together in Malibu.
