Doja Cat Surpasses Drake as Most Monthly Streamed Rapper on Spotify

  /  10.14.2021

Doja Cat has dethroned Drake to become the rapper with the most monthly listeners on Spotify.

According to the streaming service, Doja has 63.69 million streams per month compared to Drake’s 63.3 million streams. Lil Nas X has also narrowly edged out Drake for second place with 63.62 million monthly streams.

Out of all artists on the platform, Justin Bieber tops the most monthly listeners with 85.2 million streams, followed by Ed Sheeran (75M), The Weeknd (68.5M), and Dua Lipa (66.1M).

Drake previously held the record for most monthly streams among rappers, thanks in part to his latest album Certified Lover Boy, which became Spotify’s most-streamed album in a single day when it was released on Sept. 3.

In January, Drake was the first artist in history to surpass 50 billion streams across all his credited songs on Spotify. He was also named the most-streamed artist of the 2010s with 40 top 10 hits, seven of which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
