French Montana Says Akon Gifted Him a Fake Watch

French Montana is recalling an “unforgettable” gift from Akon.

During a recent interview, French revealed that Akon gifted him with a Hublot watch for his birthday one year. However, he later found out that it was counterfeit when he took it to his jeweler to get “iced out.”

“[The jeweler] looked at me and said, ‘What you mean? Akon did not give you this, my guy,'” French told DJ Akademiks.

So he called up the “I Wanna Love You” hitmaker and informed him that the watch was fake, much to his surprise. “He was like, ‘What? Let me call the jeweler that gave me that shit,'” French said.

French is still waiting for the real watch, but there’s no love lost. “Shout out to Akon. That’s my guy,” he said.

The Coke Boy is set to drop his new single and video for “I Don’t Really Care” tonight. He shared teasers on social media, where he appears to take on different personalities including The Weeknd and Donald Glover.

Earlier this week, he responded to a viral Squid Game meme that challenged fans to name five French Montana songs without features. French shot back, naming 14 tracks from his catalog. “Now eat a dick,” he wrote.
