Iggy Azalea Reveals New Photo of Son Onyx

Iggy Azalea’s son is growing up fast.

The “Fancy” rapper has kept her son with Playboi Carti out of the spotlight, but she shared an adorable new photo of her baby boy with her Instagram followers on Wednesday. Onyx, who turns 2 in April, is all smiles as he shows off his curly head of hair while posing for his passport pic.

Iggy also posted her own passport photo alongside Onyx. “Just two models taking our passport pics,” she wrote in her caption.

Back in June 2020, Iggy confirmed that she welcomed a son. “I have a son,” she told fans. “I kept waiting for the right time to say something but it feels like the more times passes the more I realize I’m always going to feel anxious to share news that giant with the world.”

Onyx is an homage to Iggy’s birth name, Amethyst. Both are types of quartz. “Onyx is a protection gem stone that can cleanse energy. It protects from negativity & gives strength,” explained Iggy, who added, “My son changed me in all these ways before he was even born just by changing my perspective.”

In October 2020, Iggy revealed that she had split from Playboi Carti, whom she starting dating in late 2018. “I’m raising my son alone & I’m not in a relationship,” she tweeted.

Last year, Iggy announced that she was taking a break from music after releasing her album The End of an Era. She plans to explore other creative projects “beyond music.”
