A$AP Rocky Arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon

  /  04.20.2022

A$AP Rocky was arrested as he arrived in L.A. on Wednesday morning.

The rapper flew into LAX on a private jet from Barbados where he was met by cops at the terminal and taken away in handcuffs. According to NBC News, he was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon in connection with a November 2021 shooting that had previously been unreported in the media.

Rocky, born Rakim Mayers, had been under investigation by the LAPD for the Nov. 6 shooting in Hollywood. The shooting victim, who survived, later told police that Mayers approached him with a handgun on the street. The victim claimed Mayers shot at him three to four times and grazed his left hand.

LAPD made the arrest with help from Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations team. Rocky’s attorney, Alan Jackson, confirmed that his client had been arrested.

Just days earlier, Rocky had been vacationing in Barbados with Rihanna. He was spotted jet skiing and hanging with friends and family during the couple’s island getaway.

This comes in the wake of rumors that Rocky cheated on his pregnant girlfriend with shoe designer Amina Muaddi. However, Muaddi denied the “unfounded lie” in a statement.

UPDATE: A$AP Rocky has been taken to LAPD HQ for questioning and is expected to be booked soon, reports TMZ.

Officers arrived at his L.A. home and searched the property after obtaining a warrant. They broke down his front gate and left with a box of potential evidence.

Cops claim A$AP knew the alleged victim and that the alleged shooting happened following an argument between the two. The LAPD identified Rocky as the suspect after corroborating information given to them by the victim.
