Mariah Carey will be there to remember her friend Michael Jackson. The pop star will perform at tomorrow’s memorial for the King of Pop.
She’ll likely sing the Jackson 5 classic “I’ll Be There,” which she covered on “MTV Unplugged” in 1992. “No artist will ever take his place. His star will shine forever,” Mariah said in the days following Michael’s death.
Others confirmed to participate in the star-studded tribute include Usher, Stevie Wonder, Kobe Bryant, Jennifer Hudson, Berry Gordy, Shaheen Jafargholi (finalist on “Britain’s Got Talent”), Magic Johnson, Martin Luther King III, Bernice A. King, John Mayer, Lionel Richie, Smokey Robinson, Rev. Al Sharpton, and Brooke Shields.
The memorial will air live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles at 10 a.m. PST on NBC, ABC, Fox, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, E! and TV Guide Channel.
