Trey Songz is going against the odds and moving up the release of his third album, Ready.
The R&B crooner’s latest effort will now arrive on August 31, one day ahead of its originally scheduled release. This new date allows him to be eligible for the 2010 Grammy Awards nominations.
The follow-up to 2007’s Trey Day includes the songs “I Need A Girl,” “LOL” featuring Gucci Mane and Soulja Boy Tell’em, the Drake-assisted “Successful,” player’s anthem “Neighbors Know My Name,” and Mary J. Blige-inspired “One Love.” Ready boasts contributions from Eric Hudson, Bryan-Michael Cox, Johnta Austin, and Carlos “Los DaMystro” McKinney.
Songz will face competition from Whitney Houston, who also moved her comeback album I Look to You up one day to make the Grammy cutoff.
