Fresh off releasing the Caribbean-flavored “Anything You Want” with Busta Rhymes and Gyptian, Mary J. Blige is back with another joint that crosses musical boundaries.
The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul links up with Kid Rock and T.I. on “Care” off Tapemasters Inc.’s The Future of R&B 36 mixtape. The positive tune, boasting a breezy acoustic guitar melody, recalls the motivational vibe of “One” (her collabo with U2), with Kid Rock harmonizing and Tip spinning socially-conscious rhymes halfway through the track.
A version of the song featuring country crooner Martina McBride in place of Mary is set to appear on Kid Rock’s new album Born Free, due Nov. 16.
