Not even a jail cell can lock down Lil Wayne. The incarcerated rapper has returned to the top of the charts with his latest album I Am Not a Human Being.
Two weeks after his eighth studio effort debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, Weezy soars from No. 16 to No. 1 thanks to the physical release of the album last week. The 443% sales boost was propelled by the set’s physical release.
Human Being, which moved 125,000 copies over the past seven days, was first released digitally on September 27. The collection of unreleased tracks marks the largest leap since Radiohead’s In Rainbows rocketed 156-1 in 2008. It’s also Wayne’s second No. 1 on the chart following 2008’s Tha Carter III.
The hip-hop superstar won’t be able to celebrate the good news with his Cash Money-Young Money family until November 4, when he is expected to be released from Rikers Island.
