Martha Stewart might be the queen of homemaking, but she knows a thing or two about rappers. The domestic diva recently shared her opinion of MTV’s Hottest MCs list, declaring Eminem as her favorite lyricist and branding him the hottest rapper alive.
“I don’t know if he’s in the game but I think so ’cause he has an album that’s, like, close to the top of the charts. It’s always been Eminem. I don’t know why, but it’s always been,” she told MTV News. “[He’s] huge, huge, huge.”
But she doesn’t exclusively rock Eminem on her iPod, revealing that she also has a thing for Kanye West, recalling a time when she met the hot-tempered rapper at New York City’s Nobu restaurant.
“I think he’s very good,” said the media tycoon. “One day I met him at Nobu uptown. We saw this table full of rapper-type guys and I said, ‘That’s Kanye West.’ And everybody at my table said, ‘Nope, they’re imposters, they’re impersonators.’ And he then walks over and introduces himself and asks if he can come and see me at my office.”
‘Ye followed up on his request, showing up at her business headquarters the next day. “So he came the next day, by himself, on time, and he had a tour of the office,” she said of West, who was looking to get tips on how to build his brand. “He wants to brand himself. He’s a big-time guy and he wants to do all those fabulous things. You’ll be seeing Kanye West everything. He’s great.”
