Lloyd Banks gets comfortable on the Pusha T-assisted “Home Sweet Home” off H.F.M. 2 (The Hunger for More 2) (Nov. 22). The Nick Speed production rocks with its soulful beat, while the G-Unit soldier doles out metaphors and rhymes over a jam-packed verse. “I’m countin’ paper like the cashier/ Living like I’m limited, breathing like it’s my last air,” he spits before handing over mic duties to the Clipse member.
“It’s basically just speaking from a perspective of somebody who’s been in the game going on 10 years,” Banks told staging-rapup.kinsta.cloud. “Pusha is somebody who I respect lyrically, and he came in the game around the same time I did. He’s going into that 10-year bracket also, so who better than him?”
He added, “The record is just bringing you how I feel, somebody coming from nothing, getting everything, and still have the want to convince [people] where you come from. That’s the hunger. ‘Home Sweet Home’ is let’s go back to where I come from.”
