Chris Brown has been crooning about Rihanna without even knowing it. Ester Dean, who penned “Right By My Side,” Chris’ collaboration with Nicki Minaj, has revealed that the song was about Chris and RiRi’s romance all along.
The singer-songwriter let the cat out of the bag during an interview with JAM’N 94.5. “Well, a little secret: I wrote that song for Chris and Rihanna,” Dean said of the single, which appeared on Nicki’s album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. “I wrote it for her from him. But he didn’t know that. I just felt like I wanted to say that to her from him.”
She apologized for not telling him sooner. “I’m so sorry, Chris!”
Just yesterday, Chris announced his break-up with girlfriend Karrueche Tran over Rihanna and released a video speaking about his love for both ladies.
“When you share history with somebody, then you tend to fall in love with somebody else, it’s kinda difficult,” he said in the candid clip. “Is there such thing as loving two people? I don’t know if that’s possible, but for me, I feel like that.”
