50 Cent

50 Cent stopped by the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas for the fourth year in a row. In addition to promoting his SMS Audio headphones, the hip-hop mogul shared details on his long-awaited return to music.

His album Animal Ambition: An Untamed Desire to Win is due in the first quarter of 2014. “I took a long time to start launching music again. I’m ready now,” Fif told HLN.

The delay was due to some behind-the-scenes business. “It took me so long to get the business portion of music straight,” he explained in an interview with Sonic. “I went through an audit process ’cause [Before I Self Destruct] was the last record required for Interscope Records.”

Animal Ambition will precede Street King Immortal, his first proper release since 2009’s Before I Self Destruct.

“The project is about prosperity,” he said of Animal Ambition. “I’ve got an interesting way of writing it. I wrote it from a distorted viewpoint. … The overall theme is ambition and prosperity.”

He offered fans a taste of his upcoming music with “This Is Murder Not Music,” which he released on New Year’s Day.

In addition to music, 50 recently shot the action thriller The Prince with Bruce Willis and John Cusack and is producing a scripted drama called “Power” for Starz.
