Kanye West

Kanye West has pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery against a paparazzo.

According to TMZ, the rapper maintains his innocence and will not be prosecuted for battery of L.A. photographer Daniel Ramos.

West was charged with misdemeanor counts of battery and grand theft following the incident at LAX last July. In return for the no contest plea, the attempted grand theft charge has been dismissed.

West was sentenced to two years of probation, 24 anger management therapy sessions, and 250 hours of community service. At the end of the two years, the conviction will most likely be erased from his record as long as he complies with the terms.

West has agreed to stay away from Ramos and must pay for the photographer’s damaged equipment and any medical bills he incurred.

While addressing the court, Ramos said he felt West should be sent to jail because he shows no remorse. He believes the rapper used the attack to promote his album Yeezus.
