He’s been Snoop Lion, Snoopzilla, and now for his latest incarnation, Snoop Dogg has signed to Pharrell Williams.
Billboard reports that Snoop’s next album will be released via Pharrell’s i am OTHER label and Columbia Records.
Pharrell will be producing the entire project, which will feature appearances from Stevie Wonder and Charlie Wilson.
“It’s a great record me and Pharrell did from top to bottom. It feels good and I’m happy to be back in the studio working with one of my favorite producers and homeboys,” Snoop told MTV News. “It’s different—it’s completely different than anything we’ve ever done. It feels good, sounds good, looks good.”
In an interview with Big Boy, Pharrell said the album was almost complete. “Snoop’s album is better than mine,” he said. “You’re gonna bug out from the approach and what we did.”
The two have worked together throughout the years and collaborated on two of Snoop’s biggest hits, 2003’s “Beautiful” and 2004’s “Drop It Like It’s Hot.”
Snoop’s last album was 2013’s 7 Days of Funk, a collaboration with Dam-Funk, released under his alter ego Snoopzilla. He previously worked with Diplo on the reggae album Reincarnated.
