The London Sessions

Mary J. Blige took a trip to London over the summer and reinvented her sound with help from some of the U.K.’s biggest hitmakers. After releasing collaborations with Sam Smith and Disclosure, MJB continues to show and prove on a new song called “When You’re Gone,” which she released to iTunes. On the somber acoustic ballad, she shares the difficulty of being separated from her lover.

“When you’re gone, I miss ya like I did when we were first together / No one in this world could ever hold me better,” sings a fragile Mary.

Her album The London Sessions drops December 2 featuring production from Rodney Jerkins, Sam Smith, Emeli Sandé, and Naughty Boy.

Mary will hit the stage to perform her new material at the American Music Awards in L.A. on November 23.
