In the wake of the Mike Brown and Eric Garner non-indictments, John Legend cries out for “Glory.” The Grammy-winning crooner gives a voice to the movement on the gospel-soul number, which he penned for the Martin Luther King Jr. historical drama Selma. Common, who also stars in the film, raps about Rosa Parks and Ferguson on his poignant verses.
“50 years since Selma. Still marching. Listen to this song @common and I wrote for @SelmaMovie,” tweeted Legend, who also appears on Ludacris’ new single “In My Life.”
“Glory” is already igniting Oscar buzz, while Selma opens in theaters on Christmas Day.
