While in town for his show at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on the “Between the Sheets Tour,” Tyga stopped by Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club” on Tuesday, and addressed everything from his relationship with Kylie Jenner to his beef with Drake.
The prior week, Amber Rose appeared on the show and blasted the rapper for dating the 17-year-old Kardashian sister. But according to Tyga, the two are not an item.
“I’m not dating Kylie, so I just want to get that out of the way,” he said. “I want to be clear to everybody that I didn’t leave my family to be with Kylie. That’s ridiculous.”
He maintains a “great relationship” with his baby mama Blac Chyna. The former couple has a two-year-old son named King Cairo together. “We decided to split to raise an emotionally stable kid,” he said.
He also addressed his fallout with Cash Money. “The business just wasn’t right. It wasn’t Wayne’s fault. You see the situation that’s happening right now,” he said. “If everything is good and everybody got millions and 100s of millions of dollars, I need to make sure why is my business not right.”
He was supposed to get out of his deal with the label last month and release The Gold Album independently in January, but that still hasn’t happened.
Meanwhile, he and Drake continue to trade jabs. After Drake dissed him on “6PM in New York,” Tyga called him a “bitch.”
“I just don’t fuck with him as a person because of the experience I’ve had with him personally,” Tyga told “The Breakfast Club,” adding, “His music is great and it’s undeniable. It’s his moment.”
His dislike for the Canadian rapper stems from personal experience. “It’s not really a beef, it’s just experiences that I’ve had with him, phone calls, and just stuff like that,” he said. “I feel like he’s a nice guy on the outside, but he’s not genuine. He plays people left and right.”
When it comes to rap, he admitted that Drake is “more clever” and “wittier” than him, but added, “I got bars as well.”
Despite reports, he doesn’t have a problem with Nicki Minaj, although he admits that they had an argument over her song “Truffle Butter.”
“Me and Nicki got into it about something stupid,” he said. “That’s what brothers and sisters do. They fight. I don’t have anything against Nicki. I fuck with her 100 percent.”
One person he is cool with is Chris Brown. Throughout his trials and tribulations, Tyga has stuck by the embattled singer’s side. “He got to the point where he didn’t want to do music no more because people was bashing him so much,” said Tyga. “I didn’t judge him. I looked at him like, ‘You Chris Brown. You Mike Jack. You gotta make music.'”
He flew out to Virginia and stayed at his house for two months and they recorded the Fan of a Fan mixtape. “I was with him to the point where people really wasn’t fucking with him.”
