Lace up. Machine Gun Kelly stands tall on his anthem “Against the World,” produced by Slim Gudz. The Cleveland MC raps about being an outcast (“Hollywood is not my type of party / Look what happened to Chris Farley”), declares himself “hip-hop’s Andy Warhol,” and salutes his ride-or-die fans.
“Greatness is in the eye of the beholder, so it starts with you / Believe in your own abilities the way you have believed in mine,” he says.
He is working on the follow-up to his 2012 debut Lace Up, which will feature live instrumentation.
“I’m saying all the things I wanted to say on the first album, on this album,” MGK told Cleveland.com. “I took that two-year hiatus because I wanted to grow and come back as something new and exciting.”
