Over the last 12 months Mystikal has emerged from a half-decade of semi-obscurity, releasing a few singles and appearing in a high-profile feature on Mark Ronson’s “Feel Right.”
Now, he’s keeping things moving with a new song called “Robert Dinero.” Produced by X File, the song combines ethereal bells with hard-hitting drums, while Mystikal brings the heat. One thing is clear—Mystikal is after the money.
“I get that Andre Iguodala, dollars, nickels, pennies, nada,” he spits. “Might hurt you feelings, when I get the billions.” Mystikal’s voice hasn’t lost any of its raspy gravitas.
The former Cash Money signee is working on a deal with Bruno Mars’ label, where he would release his first album in 14 years. “We’re really close to completing the deal and being the first artist on Bruno’s label,” he told Vegas Seven.
