Lil Wayne and Birdman are putting their beef behind them, and it couldn’t come as better news to Drake and Nicki Minaj.
Sources close to Young Money tell TMZ that the YMCMB all-stars were forced to take sides in the Weezy vs. Birdman battle.
Nicki and Drake’s loyalty remained with their boss Weezy, but they still had respect for Birdman. They reportedly felt conflicted over the feud and feared they’d be caught talking to the Cash Money chief.
When asked about the beef in March of last year, Nicki professed her love for both men. “People know that I love Wayne and I have loyalty towards him, but I love Baby too. I’m very close to Baby, and I don’t think people know that,” she told BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Charlie Sloth. “I am banking on the fact that they’re gonna work this out like family. They’ve gone through things before just like family does and it is what it is. They gonna get through it.”
In his lawsuit against Cash Money, Wayne was suing to ensure that Young Money’s artists including Drake and Nicki remained under his control.
But the drama seems to be over since Birdman and Weezy are back on speaking terms. The two reunited on New Year’s Eve and and were recently spotted at a Miami nightclub and in the studio. However, Weezy has yet to drop to his $51 million lawsuit.
Drake acknowledged their reunion on Instagram, posting a photo with the money bag emoji.
