Beyoncé gave Chance the Rapper a surprise he won’t soon forget.

While the Chicago rapper was being interviewed backstage at the VMAs, Queen Bey showed up behind him, causing him to fan out with excitement.

Lil Chano was warning Drake that he was “coming for [his] muscles” when Bey popped up, smiling at the camera and resting her chin on his shoulder. When Chance realized who was interview bombing him, he was shocked.

“Oh my God,” he said. “That was Beyoncé!”

Notorious for avoiding interviews, a smiling Queen Bey briefly said hello and praised MTV’s host Meredith Graves on her tattoos. But before the long, she was gone, leaving Chance full of joy, yelling “This my life!”

Last night was full of great moments for Beyoncé. She celebrated eight Moonmen for her work on LEMONADE and performed a surprise show-stopping medley. Of course, she also stunned on the red carpet, where she was joined by Blue Ivy and the mothers of Mike Brown, Eric Garner, Oscar Grant, and Trayvon Martin.
